Coverup Difficulty

Since my keloid scar is flat and summer is approaching, I want to wear nice tops like spaghetti strap shirts and dresses. However, it is very difficult for me to find makeup that can conceal my keloid scar without it looking like I have makeup on my shoulders. I bought dermablend, and it does cover my scar, but I haven't found a shade to match my skin tone. I have already bought three different colors tubes to blend, and now I'm buying a fourth color. I hope I have success matching my skin tone. I would like to finally wear a pretty summer dress. Anyway, I am really happy about my keloid treatment progress except the color discoloration, so I shouldn't bitch.

I am interested in going to see Dr. Fishchman to treat my keloids, but I wanted to ask you first what it was like. Did the injections hurt? Were there side effects? Is your keloid showing any signs of coming back? How many sets of injections did you have. I have over a dozen keloids on my body and have for years had no success in treating them. Your success story is very inspiring.

Hi Samantha,

My experience being injected was not painful. It feels like a pinch. Dr. Fishchman injects local anesthesia first on the area that will be injected. He uses local anesthesia if the keloid scar is hard. After the local anesthesia is injected, there is no pain. I have recently received my fifth injection, because I felt it was growing again in some areas. Dr. Fischman said there is good signs that I will only need one more injection, and my keloid should not grow back. As for side effects, I did not have any. It should be know that pregnant women should not receive this treatment or women that want to be pregnant within two months.

hi !!
I have a huge keloid scar on my chest area and I am dying to see Dr.Fishchman to receive injections like you. Your photos are really inspiring..I want to make my scars less invisible too..although i know keloids tend to raise again..but i've noticed you are not having side effects. your story really gives me hopes..Could you please tell me the price of each injection?? I don't live in new york (i've noticed that Dr.Fishchman's office is in NY).. If I visit NW, i need to look for housing and etc, since I live in a different country. I would really appreciate if you please tell me the costs of injection in detail. Please help me out! Thank you so much..!!

I have been to Dr. Fischmans office and received the same injections that she has. When I went (several years ago) the cost was $350 USD for one office visit. But he will email the injection prescription to your local Dr. if that doctor is willing to do it.
